Who's Counting??

Good Morning Everyone!

Can you believe that it will be Christmas Eve in just one week? Are you deleting this email in sheer protest? Well, regardless of where you are in your holiday preparations, I'm here to let you know, it's not too late. I have kits available to help rid you of some of the decision making process. The grab and go ease of a kit checks a lot of boxes, especially if you did not heed my warning way back in July when I casually mentioned Christmas would be here before you know it. There are lots of projects you can still make before Santa comes to fill the stockings and claim his cookies. Speaking of stockings, if you are responsible for the contents of your stocking (I am) I have lots of fun notions and gadgets that will be sure to please. I've gotten very good at acting surprised lol....

So now that I've burst your bubble and thrown a reality check in your face, here comes the fun part, are you ready? Andra will be joining us tomorrow evening for Stitch and Bitch!!! YAY!!! She will be bringing the brand new yarns for Spring/Summer 2025, can you believe it? It honestly feels like Spring today, 45 degrees, muddy trails and some rain, just perfect....Oh well, I'm not saying I'm ready for Spring, but there's no harm in getting those lighter weight garments onto the needles in the New Year just to be ready. I also suggested the Elise Pullover by Kirsten Ascanius as our next KAL, I asked Andra to suggest yarn options. It has not been decided yet, but I think it would be a lovely transitional sweater to have ready for warmer temperatures, or a day like today. I will be placing my big order with Andra on Thursday, so if you want to share your thoughts on what you'd like me to carry, please join in the fun!

My Bergman sweater by Caitlin Hunter is almost finished, I didn't stay on sleeve island very long, one more sleeve to go. I'm challenging myself to see if I can have it finished by Stitch and Bitch, place your bets!! I love this sweater, it knits up quickly, the color work is easy and best of all, it's beautiful. Joyce is almost finished with hers, she used Berroco's Ultra Alpaca, it's gorgeous!! I plan on casting on two sweaters to keep my hands out of the Chex Mix (I have a glutenous love affair with Chex Mix every year, it's sinful). Carrie did an Advent Calendar for me again, she gifted me the yarn, beads and pattern to knit Pope Vergara's Clay Cardigan https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/clay-cardigan I fell in love with this sweater when I was visiting Lucinda's shop, it's been on my mind ever since. Carrie picked out the perfect color combination of beads and yarn, I found the perfect contrast to use in my LYS, the owner was so helpful lol. Did I mention how perfect it's going to be? I also dug out my stash of Cloud by Lang Yarns to knit another Isabell Kraemer Il Grande Favorito https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/il-grande-favorito Many of us have already knit this sweater, it was a KAL, I've knit it 3 times already. I'm usually not one to repeat a pattern, but I love how this one fits AND the construction is fun. BONUS, It's bulky yarn knit on 10.5 needles, WAHOO! I'll have it done before New Year's, once again, place your bets....

I've managed to get my Christmas tree up, the lights are on, not sure if the decorations will make it or not, but it sure looks pretty despite the slight resemblance to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We will be meeting for the very last time in 2024 for KAL tomorrow, Wednesday evening 6-7:30 IT'S GOING TO BE LOTS OF FUN WITH ANDRA!!!! I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy

P.S. The dead mums are gone!!!
