Good Morning Everyone!

The Winter Retreat WAS AMAZING!!! It was amazing for several reasons, #1 CARRIE!!! OMG she was behind the scenes making sure everything was taken care of. She naturally stepped in and "did the things." She never asks for help, my timing was perfect, you know, after everything had been taken care of. She naturally took the reins and quietly prepped food, put soup into warmers, made the salads, etc...I am not suggesting that no one else helped, but Carrie was instrumental in making this past weekend the success that it was. THANK-YOU CARRIE!!! #2 CARLA!!! How lucky were we to have spent a beautiful weekend in the middle of the woods in a beautiful cabin?!?!? Seriously...I couldn't have felt more at home. Thank-you Carla for opening up your lovely home and providing such a warm and welcoming environment for us. #3 MARY!!! Mary was the free entertainment and aside from providing hours of laughter, she brought the most amazing cake EVER!! #4 ALL OF YOU!!! And I mean this in so many ways! This weekend reinforced why I do what I do, don't laugh, it's not the money...I am so very blessed to have such a wonderful circle of friends. I shared pictures on Instagram and Facebook, and my friend Shelagh commented, "You have cultivated the most beautiful life." Those 7 little words resonated with me, loudly. I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and appreciation for what I have accomplished. I don't give it too much thought and rarely, do I give myself much credit. Whether or not you were able to attend this weekend's festivities, you were all with me in spirit and I truly couldn't do what I do without all of your support....

There is a sign at the cabin that says, "What happens at the cabin, stays at the cabin." You know how rigidly I follow the rules lol...There would be no possible way for me to recreate the scenarios that lead to the outbursts of laughter. But I will share one story, I'm the butt of it, so no one's feelings will get hurt lol. It's Friday night, I'm stretched out on the sofa working away on the sleeve of the Whitehorse sweater, mindless knitting, right? I'm looking at my pattern so I can see how long the sleeve is supposed to be. I'm absolutely convinced that I'm missing page 7 of my pattern which has the answer to my question. I'm shuffling and shuffling the pages, looking and looking, to the point that Mary and Carla stop what they're doing to watch me. All of a sudden I get the feeling I'm being watched. I'm completely flustered at this point and give the pattern to Carla and ask her to find the directions for the sleeve on page 7. In about 3 seconds she's laughing and hands the pattern back to me and says, "It's on page 5, there is no page 7." Mary bursts out laughing hysterically, I don't even know what to think other than, "Am I really this stupid?" And the answer is, YES!!! I really am that stupid, BUT I made them laugh, so it's totally worth it...In a nutshell, that's how the weekend went.

If you haven't seen the new shipment from DellaQ, you must!! I love their bags SOOOO MUCH! I will be putting in another order, Carla brought her OH SNAP bags to the retreat, they were an instant hit. If you'd like to be included in this next order, here's the link, let me know what you'd like! https://dellaq.com/ You can certainly stop by the shop and we can take a look together if that's easier. I met with Whitney from Knitting Fever Inc last Thursday, wait until you see what's coming!!! 20 colors of Juniper Moon Farm MOONSHINE!!! It is a GORGEOUS blend of merino, alpaca and silk, oooh, la, la. I am very excited to welcome KFI back into the shop, there are some lovely yarns that I know you are going to love. I also ordered Big Merino Wool which is a gorgeous Super Bulky yarn, perfect for when you're looking for a quick project. Carrie and I will be doing a box opening just as soon as it gets here. Thank-you Whitney for such a fun meeting, I am very excited to have Juniper Moon Farm back in the shop. As if there wasn't enough excitement, I will be placing my order with Blue Sky Fibers. I've had so many compliments on my Bergman sweater, it was the push I needed to introduce another beautiful line of yarn for YOU!!

A little reminder that KA is this coming Monday, February 10th at Carla's house, 4:00-??? There is a private Facebook page that we use to communicate, especially recipes. You can be added, let me or Carrie know. We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
