When 6 Feels Like -2

Good Morning Everyone, BRRRRRR......

Another day of deception, that sun sure is a welcome change. Too bad Old Man Winter is gripping down hard on us. I will say, it doesn't make it any easier to brave these temperatures knowing what to expect before the arctic blast smacks you in the face. The first thing I check when I open my eyes is the weather, how many layers will we be needing this morning? Bernie waits patiently as I methodically start piling on the clothing, this is by far his favorite time of the day, better than breakfast (almost) . Andra texted me this morning, "4F. Yikes!!!!! Delay that walk!" Me, "lol, heading out. Good for the complexion" My cheeks were good and rosy, downright on fire once they started to defrost, I'd say it worked. Beauty is pain, right? BONUS, I was able to see the sunrise. Definitely gets the blood flowing and the synapses firing, throw in some coffee and we're off to a great start.

I have so much to share, ARE YOU READY?????? The Madelinetosh order is shipping, OMG!!! Doubtful it will be here before Saturday for KAL, but it's very exciting news that it's on the way, weeks ahead of schedule. Included in this order, DRUMROLL.....DELLAQ bags! Super cool stuff, only the best for YOU!!! I am quite confident that you are going to love their bags, I am rather smitten with their Nora Bucket Bags and Maker's Midi Backpack. I NEED ANOTHER PROJECT BAG(S)!!!! I'm still patiently waiting for Thread and Maple to send me their beautiful leather binder and Shortie needlecase. I did a friendly inquiry, not super thrilled with the response, but I am mindful that the product comes from Ukraine, so.....patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait, blah, blah, blah... Lastly, sort of, due to the overwhelming love of my Bergman sweater, I am becoming a stockist for Blue Sky Fibers. I used their lovely Organic Worsted Cotton for the main color and have received many compliments on how beautifully it knits up. They are a USA company based in Minnesota, I have admired their yarns in other shops. Take a look at their website blueskyfiber.com they offer lovely kits, mini skeins and beautiful fibers. Please let me know if there is something you would like me to order.

I had a nice chat with Andra yesterday, she told me she was finished with her Audrey's Pullover sweater by Elizabeth Smith. This has been on my "to do" list since Carla saw the pattern. According to Andra, this is a "Toll House Cookie" recipe, the perfect "go to" pattern. It calls for Berroco's Vintage, but of course, substituting another yarn, much like adding butterscotch chips vs chocolate, will yield a similar but different result. She said the pattern is extremely well written, easy to adapt and offers "straight" and "A-line" versions. I love the split hem detail, the stripe accent and just the overall look of this sweater. Valentine's Day is just around the corner, can you feel the love??? Carrie and I (mostly Carrie) decided to put together THE CUTEST VALENTINE DAY KITS!!!! I am working on the shop sample, it is super cute and I think you will agree, it's better than chocolate (although there will be chocolate involved lol). The boss lady is making me put aside my GORGEOUS sweaters, Whitehorse and Clay Cardigan, and work solely on this shop sample, OMG is it cute!! I'll give you a hint, it has flowers that won't die, it's a VT designer, and you've seen it before if you pay attention to me....stay tuned my friends!!

Almost lastly again...Please send some fuzzy warm vibes to Margie and Sandy. Sandy had knee surgery on Friday and will be recuperating for several weeks. Margie has been stuck in the hospital with a nasty pneumonia that won't quit. I wish you both a speedy recovery and know that we all miss you and are thinking about you.

LASTLY!!!! We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. KAL is this Saturday, January 25th 9-11:00. I will be closing the shop early on Friday (10-2:00) so I can bring Addie to the airport, she's leaving for Manchester England. Make it a great day, stay warm and I'll see you soon!!

Katy
