Good Morning Everyone!
Before I forget, lol, MY MORNING RITUALS SWEATER IS FINISHED!!!! As soon as I complete this newsletter, she'll be getting unrolled from her towel and placed onto the blocking mats with a fan blowing relentlessly on her. I WILL BE WEARING HER TOMORROW EVENING FOR STITCH AND BITCH, dry or not. We had KAL last Saturday, everyone is making terrific progress. I loved seeing the different colors, each one is just so beautiful!! I know this yarn was not the easiest to work with, but damn, it sure is worth it when it yields such a cozy, snuggly, squishy, cuddly, sweater. Would I knit with it again? Yep!! In case you hadn't heard, I had the extra challenge of alternating skeins, that was an unexpected hurdle. It slowed my knitting down considerably. Once I finally got through blending the two colors, I pretty much cruised. I believe I have enough leftover to knit a hat to match. We always talk about taking a group photo of each KAL, this time, we need to. Carla has volunteered her daughter Lauren to take our picture wearing our sweaters, even if it's not finished. You still have plenty of time, don't worry, it will be sometime next year....
My Bee Vest has been patiently waiting for me, and I was a bit worried to pick her up again. When I last left her, I was very confused about the arm hole shaping and experienced trouble understanding what I should be doing. I'd already mentally prepared myself to go rogue and "do it my own way" if push came to shove. I decided I should tink it back to where the shaping started. For whatever reason, the light was on and somebody was home, it was crystal clear what I was supposed to be doing. I can't even begin to understand why I was so befuddled, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the instructions. It's funny too, it had been gnawing at me, ever so slightly, the entire time I was finishing Morning Rituals. I was so excited to pick up that project again, but was dreading figuring out the directions. Well, the little knitting angel (My Mimi) was sitting on my shoulder, I ended up knitting well past midnight. I also learned that I can drop down a few rows and change the color of the beads when I screw it up. Guess what else? I get to wind up the yarn for my BERGMAN SWEATER!!! It just doesn't get much better than this...maybe add some chocolate.
This Saturday, November 30th, is SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY!!!! Carrie and I have been very busy getting kits put together and coming up with some fun give-aways. Berroco is always so supportive of their LYS partnerships, they are offering a FREE pattern download, I will have the code at the shop. I also have just ONE Advent Calendar left, it's very lonely and really needs to go home with someone so that they can have fun counting down to Christmas. The Downtown Holiday Raffle also kicks off on Saturday, so come get your card stamped. At this point, you hardly need me to do the math, but next month at this time, it will be the day after Christmas. I hope you will stop by on Saturday, the Christmas music will be playing, I have a new Christmas Candle, and the tree will be up.
Believe it or not, we will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch (mostly so I can wear my new sweater) I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
