Spinach In Your Teeth...

Good Morning Everyone!

It takes a special friend to point out something as stupid as having spinach in your teeth. It takes an even better one to point out a mistake in your knitting, and an even more better one when they feel terrible after doing so (My friend Joanne is cringing at "more better", lol). Claudia arrived early to Stitch and Bitch last week, it was nice catching up with her before the crowd began to arrive. I was really excited to show her the progress I'd made on my Bee Vest and Morning Rituals, kind of like being a proud Mom (which I am). I hand her the vest and she's ooing and aweing over how soft and pretty it is when she discovers I've missed a bead on one of the antennae. She looks at me and apologizes, I can tell she wishes she could go back in time about 2 seconds. She assures me I can easily sew the bead on and no one would be the wiser. My response was to leave it, my defense was that poor bee flew head on into a wall and damaged his antenna. I'm definitely not ripping it apart, it's in the first repeat of the beadwork and I can honestly say I haven't lost a single night's sleep over it. Afterall, a little humility is good for the soul and it was looking way too perfect. And as my friend Leslie says, "If someone is that close to you, they better be buying you dinner." I didn't show her Morning Rituals LOL...

Did you happen to see Jenn Steingass' latest pattern release, GREENLEAF? I was out on my hike with Bernie this morning thinking about all of the color combinations I could use. I'm simply overwhelmed, I have a gorgeous combination in Lanas Light that is screaming at me. I ordered a brand new color called Shoal (a lovely blue) and I was thinking about all the colors it would go with. My natural tendency was to pick a green contrast, but yellow would look stunning against the blue. Then I thought about ordering some Brown Sheep Nature Spun Sport, I do love working with that yarn and the colors are amazing. Mind you, I have absolutely no business even entertaining the thought of another sweater, but Kathleen needs me to order some Brown Sheep for a sweater that is so far down the queue, I figured, what's the harm? Then of course, Making Tracks Lite would be stunning. Here's the link to the pattern, it's on sale!!! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/greenleaf-2 Stop by and I'll help you pick out your next project.

We had a fun time at KAL this past Saturday morning. I loved seeing everyone's progress on their Morning Rituals, mine is coming along nicely, I think...I should probably stop and count the stitches since I did discover I was somehow missing one between markers B & C, the 6 stitch cable that continues to plague me. Mary brought another amazing assortment of donuts from Quality Bake Shop down in Essex, OMG!!! They are so old school, they remind me of the ones we could get at Ann's Bake Shop when I was a kid. The box sat in the center of the circle for as long as I could stand. I finally decided to get the party started and helped myself to a Boston Creme filled one which I devoured with no shame at all, WHAT A TREAT!! Mary also brought me a little snack for later, it came in handy, I didn't get to have lunch. I have no idea what it was or even how to describe it but it just took me back in time, I was so hopped up on sugar and caffeine. Needless to say, it was so yummy it would be worth driving all the way down there to get just one. Let me know if you want to go on a little road trip...

I still have Advent Calendars available, they are limited edition. My friend Karen stopped by last week, she had 11 of the 12 mittens finished from last year, she offered to let me display them. They are SO CUTE!!! This year's is even cuter, I know you don't think it's possible but Carrie and I have really found some great ideas. There is some flexibility in how you use the yarn, I'm guessing that you could easily do both projects...needless to say, there will be pattern support for knitting and crocheting. If you've been wanting to try your hand at either one, I think the smaller of the two projects would be perfect for beginners. I am hoping to have everything organized and ready to go in the next few weeks. Sue can't have hers until November 30th....

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30, for Stitch and Bitch I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
