Good Morning Everyone!
We all know that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow a few weeks ago, his prognostication skills are infallible. Good thing I have everything you need to get you through the rest of winter, even if it lasts until May. With Valentine's Day on Friday, Carrie decided that we should put together kits, she discovered the Pressed Flowers Kerchief pattern by Amy Christoffers. They are super cute, the pattern is not only fun, it yields an adorable bandana that is the perfect pop of color. I love the color combinations, they are vibrant, a reminder that soon we will have Spring flowers. If you haven't tried mosaic knitting, this is a wonderful introductory project to get yourself acquainted. Included in each kit are heart shaped point protectors, 2 skeins of yarn and of course, CHOCOLATES!!
My order from Blue Sky Fibers will be here on Thursday, I am sooooo excited! I ordered 8 beautiful colors in Organic Cotton worsted, 4 colorways of Printed along with 4 solids to coordinate. This yarn is so soft and the palette is just lovely, I even ordered YELLOW!! I'm extremely fussy when it comes to yellow, but I love Dandelions and couldn't resist getting a bag of Dandelion with it's matching Sundrop. It also may have been a result of not seeing the sun for over a week that my mood was craving a simulated sense of sunshine. Needless to say, I am very excited to be stocking this beautiful yarn, they have several lovely yarns that I know you will want to work with. Feel free to explore their website blueskyfibers.com
I did receive two big boxes of GORGEOUS yarn from Juniper Moon Farm, it is, simply put, YUMMY! The Big Wool Merino is a super bulky yarn and super soft, I was sent a lovely shawl as a shop sample, stop by and wrap yourself up in it. Carrie found a lovely pattern, the Arctic Fern Shawl, it would take only 4 balls to knit, here's the link https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/arctic-fern-shawl The rest of the Moonshine order will be arriving early in March, I have five of the twenty colors, it is such beautiful yarn, it has a lovely sheen. It's the perfect yarn for so many sweaters, The Felix Cardigan, The Weekender, Audrey Pullover, The Schieffelin, inspiration galore!! It's worsted weight and the fiber content is a blend of silk, merino and alpaca, three of my favorites!!
DellaQ has been a big hit, not surprised at all. I've been wanting to stock their products for awhile, and the time finally arrived. During the Winter Retreat, Carla had her Oh Snap project bags with her, they were a big hit. Needless to say, it did result in a need to place an order for said bags, they are coming my friends!! I did take the liberty of ordering extras, I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out. I also placed my order for this year's LOCAL YARN SHOP day enamel pins, mark your calendars, it's Saturday, April 26th!!
I don't think I've forgotten anything, if so, I'll remember to discuss it tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 during Stitch and Bitch. I'm very excited that there will be two special guests joining in the fun, Emma's Mom, Stephanie and Grandmother, Jean are visiting!! Stephanie and I will be twinning in our Emsworth vests, yes, we've planned it!! I hope you can join in the fun!! Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
Katy
P.S. HI ANDRA!!!!
