Good Morning Everyone!
If you haven't already heard, I am on vacation this week! I will be gone from September 6-13th visiting the beautiful state of Colorado, staying in the historic little town of Salida. I am looking forward to a week of knitting by the Arkansas River, hiking the Collegiates, soaking in some natural hot springs, and of course attending the Salida Fiber Festival. The weather looks like it's going to cooperate, nothing but blue sky, sunshine and NO HUMIDITY!! I've got my knitting bag stuffed,a new book queued up and two pairs of hiking boots, let the fun begin.
Speaking of fun, last week Andra and I hosted a fabulous Trunk Show. SO MUCH CREATIVE INSPIRATION!!! Now I really feel like I can't possibly knit fast enough to make everything that I absolutely MUST HAVE. Seriously, I've never enjoyed feeling overwhelmed except for when it comes to knitting. It's definitely a dual edged sword and a first world problem, wah, wah, wah, I need more time to knit so I can have 50 new sweaters to wear, ok, maybe just 10...That said, we successfully selected the next KAL, it's the Marsali Cardigan, knit up in Berroco's Lanas Quick, here's the link berroco.com/marsali (hopefully this works). It's absolutely stunning, will knit up quickly (bulky), and there aren't any buttonholes to make! There's still time to decide if you'd like to join in the fun, I have about 20 bags of it shipping along with the pattern booklet. We will be starting the next KAL October 23rd, I didn't think September 25th would give everyone enough time to finish their Schieffelin's, let me know. I only have 1 1/4 sleeves to knit and I'm done, I plan on finishing it on my plane ride out to Denver. I brought 3 balls of Berroco's Lucca (cotton and cashmere) to knit the Penthia cowl and mitts while I'm gone. Guessing I will need to buy a project(s) to knit on the way home.
There was some discussion about gathering for Stitch and Bitch in Taylor Park on September 8th. I think it would be lots of fun, the Summer Concert Series I think is still going on. We will be meeting the following week, September 15th, 6-7:30 I'll have lots to report! Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!
