Knitter's Anonymous, Sort Of...

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, it happened last night at Carla's house. The first, official gathering of Knitter's Anonymous, complete with 2 crocheters, one was incognito. Let me make it crystal clear, we are in no way making light of other support groups. We signed in, complete with first and last names, phone number and email, there is no anonymity. This is a 100% enabling group of individuals who take comfort in knowing that having a stash isn't a problem with anyone in attendance and adding to the stash is extremely healthy. Kind of like feeding a sourdough starter, it's necessary. We've all managed to convince ourselves there are far worse habits and for many of us, it's a form of self preservation. If anything, it reinforced my mindset of "safety in numbers" and perhaps the famous teaching tool my mother tried to instill, "If everyone else was jumping off the bridge, would you follow?" Hell yes if it involves a lovely silk, alpaca, cashmere blend....So thank-you to Carla for opening her home up to us, to Carrie, for driving and providing our Knitter's Anonymous chips, to Mary for bringing that kickass cake, and to each of you who brought a delicious treat to share. The company was amazing, the food delicious and we were able to watch an almost full moon rise up on the horizon, just a perfect evening. Stay tuned, there was discussion of organizing a knitting cruise 2026, start saving your pennies....

If you haven't been following the ongoings for the Broodhaha online auction, you totally should. Every single chicken has a bid on her!! I haven't checked today, but Miss Beadle is leading the "brood" with bids over $200!!! I do hope that you will be able to join the festivities on Friday, September 27th at 5:30, City Hall so you can see who won the bids. Andra will be joining us next Wednesday, September 25th during Stitch and Bitch for a TRY ON TRUNK SHOW!!! This is a fantastic opportunity to see how this season's yarns knit up and the latest pattern support. Speaking of latest pattern support, Carla informed me of this little number, https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hey-sailor-2 I do love Andrea Mowry's designs. We will be starting our Fall KAL, Morning Rituals by none other than Andrea Mowry on Saturday, September 28th 9-11:00. My friend Mary will be joining us all the way from Tennessee to cast on with us.

In case you haven't seen my beautiful Autumn Alpine sweater on Social, I will be hopefully working on sleeve #2 by tomorrow, fingers crossed. I am so bored with the plain old knitting I've been forced to do since completing the color work. The motivation is knowing I'll have a gorgeous new sweater to wear to Vermont Sheep and Wool on October 6th. Hopefully it won't be 80 degrees, this warm weather is throwing me for a loop. I'm watching the leaves slowly begin to change and it just isn't computing, it's so warm out. I guess the smart person would see this as an opportunity to wash and block sweaters, anyone???

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
