Good Morning Everyone!

Where to start??? I have so much to say, my head is simply swimming with exciting information. Maybe I'll get some coffee, that should calm me down, no, it's not decaf...We had a fantastic KAL on Saturday, the Elise Pullover has officially started! We were joined, via Zoom, by the designer, Kirsten Ascanius, she lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was wonderful to meet her and learn how she began designing. What really hit home was when she shared how knitting helped her find a community of friends while she was recently living in the US for a couple of years. It is a story I've heard many times through the years, you've just moved, the boxes are barely unpacked, and you're already looking for the closest yarn shop. Knitting and crocheting are such strong common

denominators, it continues to amaze me how much they bring people together. I wonder if it would help, if the Senate and Congress members had to sit and knit during session, perhaps they could learn how to better work together. Imagine Bernie Sanders helping Mitch McConnell pick up a dropped stitch, just a thought...

I read lots of newsletters from other shops and companies just so I can be sure to see what's current and to pass along the information to you. The Cashmere Goat shared an adorable FREE pattern by Tanis Lavallee, Metropolis https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/metropolis-3

I'm thinking that Berroco's Wizard or Remix Chunky would be wonderful options for this sweater, they would produce two completely different looks. Speaking of Remix, I received Berroco's latest Insider newsletter highlighting their Romantic Prairie Collection. Admittedly, when I meet with Andra, I go on sensory overload, there's a lot of information to take in. I've seen these patterns before, but I really "saw" them yesterday with fresh eyes. It is a lovely collection, I especially LOVE the Windflower Pullover, it's knit up with Remix Light and Aerial. If you are a subscriber to Knit Bits, you will be receiving it today. In the meantime, here's a link to the pattern, the detail are simple and stunning https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/windflower-8 Yes, I will be getting the pattern booklets in...

If none of those patterns strike a chord with you, I did receive the loveliest note from Kirsten yesterday. She said it was wonderful meeting us all and experiencing first hand how much we enjoyed her pattern. She did tell us she was finishing up a new pattern called The Going West Tee. She has sent me the pattern and is looking for test knitters. It is similar to the Elise Pullover, worked from the top down, and uses a series of Right and Left lifted increases versus M1R/L. I do like the seamless look of the lifted increases, Jennifer Steingass has used them in a few of her designs. The yarn is a fingering weight, and calls for a silk, merino, linen blend. The Exotic by Woolerton Estates would be perfect for this sweater. If you would like to test knit this sweater, I will give 20% off The Exotic, the deadline is April 26th, LOCAL YARN SHOP DAY!! If interested, please stop by and I'll forward the pattern and wind up your yarn. Additionally, if you're on Instagram, please show her some love, you can follow her @ascaniusknitting

We will be meeting tomorrow evening, Wednesday 6-7:30 for Stitch and Bitch, I hope you can join in the fun. Make it a great day and I'll see you soon!

Katy
